Grown
The end of the work week has a specific mood. It often is full of non work related conversations. It is a lighter atmosphere from the oppressive power that Monday holds.
Friday’s at work are when I remind myself to water my plants. There are two pots that sit on my desk holding five plants total. One plant was a gift and the other four were from seeds I planted.
One more week down. One more week filled with small red inked check marks over each task and a big dash through each passed day on my calendar. I enjoy filling my calendar each day. I’m a planner. This brings joy but also leaves me only thinking about future plans.
The plants illustrate a metaphor for life. We all have gifts in life. However for the most part we have to work for everything else we want. I believe that farmers are close to God in that way. They the farmers and God care deeply for their crop and work hard to get real results.
My life goals that I have planned are actually planted seeds that will eventually take root. Of course the work I put in has to align with the terms of a larger power. I need to make sure my timing is right. Like the farmer plans for the seasons.
I hope that this the right season for my little seeds.
